Diego A. Camacho, DMD, MSD is a native of Fort Lauderdale and alumnus of Cardinal Gibbons High School. He continued his education in the South Florida area and completed college at University of Miami. Upon completion, Dr. Camacho attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. During his dental school tenure, Dr. Camacho became the President of the Hispanic Dental Association, volunteered in many local and international dental missions, was an active participant in dental science research projects, and received many awards including the Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Periodontics. He went on to specialize in Periodontics when he accepted one of two coveted residency positions in the prestigious Department of Periodontics at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in Richmond, VA. At VCU, Dr. Camacho excelled as a post-doctoral resident winning first place in the Billy Pennel Memorial Research Award fr om the Southern Academy of Periodontology. He also served as the Chief Resident during his residency. Dr. Camacho received a Master’s of Science Degree in Dentistry and certificates in periodontics and intravenous conscious sedation fr om VCU. Furthermore, Dr. Camacho is board certified in Periodontics and Dental Implant Surgery as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Camacho returned home to Fort Lauderdale wh ere he enjoys practicing all aspects of periodontal therapy. He prides himself on creating an enjoyable experience for all of his patients by going above and beyond. Dr. Camacho is committed to staying up to date with the latest technologies and advances in dentistry through participating in continuing education. Dr. Camacho is certified in Basic Life Support as well as Advanced Cardiac Life Support and is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, Broward County Dental Association, and Fort Lauderdale Dental Study Club.
